Portfolio
Research indicates that the first two years of employment are crucial in determining job retention. The support provided to newly qualified Allied Health Professions in their transition from ‘student’ to ‘accountable clinician’ plays a key role in ensuring a positive start to a new career. Each Allied Health Professional preceptee will be guided in building their portfolio based on the profession specific competency framework in the areas of:
- Communication
- Personal and Professional Development
- Health Safety and Security
- Quality
- Equality and Diversity
- Profession and Post Specific
These areas can be achieved in the first twelve months post qualification and are linked with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) standards incorporating observational practice and certification.
